“Space Chimps” might provide passable entertainment for the kiddies, but it’s simply not funny enough, or inventive enough to appeal to adult audiences too, though it won’t make you want to kill yourself, either. The Blu-ray boasts a fairly pristine transfer with solid audio, but special features are lacking.
Recommendation: Worth renting for the kids.

Come avete potuto apprendere dal precedente post, la Warner, come aveva peraltro lasciato intendere fin dai primi istanti successivi alla morte dell’interprete di Joker, ha eliminato dai documentari presenti tra i contenuti speciali delle edizioni home video di “The Dark Knight”, tutti gli interventi diretti dell’attore considerandolo un gesto di rispetto verso di lui e la sua famiglia. E’una scelta condivisibile? E, sempre in tema di rispetto, cosa ne pensate dell’enorme sfruttamento dell’immagine di Ledger/Joker per vendere qualsiasi tipo di merchandising, ufficiale ma sopratutto non ufficiale?

The general consensus, among experts, analysts and other blowhards has long been that when Blu-ray players legitimately hit $199, the format would definitely go mainstream. Well, $200 Blu-ray players are all over the place for Christmas, even Sony’s BDP-S350, with its unshakeable $299 MSRP. But according to ABI Research, only 8% of holiday buyers were even considering upgrading to Blu-ray even though about half of American homes have gone HD and it’s totally uncontested by HD DVD this year. What about you guys?

I was recently trawling through the vast amounts of news on N4G when I came across this story. Basically, the article was claiming that, as the title says, Consumers find Blu-ray a turn off. Now let me start by saying that I honestly don’t know how well Blu-ray is doing or how well it will do, but this article was making this claim with no evidence of facts to back up their argument. Once you read through this, you’ll could quite fairly make the same remark. However, I am not actually making any sort of claim at all. I would like Blu-ray to do well as anyone who owned and purchased a product would, but just like your letter to Santa as a child, wanting it doesn’t mean that you will get it.

BADTASTE, ormai sito cinematografico di affermata eccellenza in Italia e all’estero, ha parteciapato ad uno screening in anteprima del Blu-Ray organizzato dalla Warner. Per conoscere tutti i dettagli sui contenuti dei due dischi vi rimando al loro sito, alla pagina in questione e mi limito a riportare qui di seguito quelle che sono evidenziate come CURIOSITA’ e che, a mio avviso, possono essere fonte di discussione qui sul blog:
In tutti i documentari sono stati rimossi gli interventi di Heath Ledger, ovviamente per rispetto all’attore tragicamente scomparso a gennaio e alla sua famiglia. Della sua performance si parla molto nel documentario sulla psicologia del Cavaliere Oscuro, ma non vengono mostrati suoi interventi diretti: piuttosto, uno a uno tutti i membri del cast e della troupe finiscono per parlare di lui.
Il Gift Set sarà disponibile in “alcune migliaia di copie”, la Warner non ha voluto sbilanciarsi dicendoci esattamente quante, quindi se le volete è meglio se correte […]

Leiam as notícias abaixo: não há como discordar que o final de ano está encaminhando a consolidação do formato Blu-ray no Brasil (apesar dos preços) e preparando o terreno para 2009. Juntamente com os BDs da Paramount que noticiei aqui, os próximos lançamentos iniciam uma safra de títulos muito esperados:
Trilogia Rambo

Já está em pré-venda os três Blu-rays da trilogia original de Rambo. A Universal lançará a coleção no dia 10 de dezembro (que pelo jeito já pode ser considerado o mês do Blu-ray aqui no país), por R$99,90 cada um. Ainda não há detalhes técnicos ou sobre extras das edições.
